General Hospital has snagged two major film stars to appear on the show in short term roles. Bruce Davison and Adrienne Barbeau, mostly known for their work in films, will both be appearing on General Hospital soon.
Adrienne Barbeau
Adrienne Barbeau is a popular American actress and considered by some to be a horror icon. She is also the author of two books. Barbeau became known in the 1970s thanks to her role as Broadway's original Rizzo in Grease. She also had a role on the popular comedy Maude. Her popularity soared in the 1980s when she appeared in a number of films including The Fog, Swamp Thing, Creepshow and Escape from New York. In the 1990s she did voice work on Batman: The Animated Series and other Batman cartoon series playing Catwoman. She has also guest starred in series such as Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. One of her most recent works is the HBO series Carnivàle.
Bruce Davison
Bruce Davison has had an acclaimed career in film. He is a Golden Globe winner Best Supporting Actor for the film Longtime Companion and was also nominated for an Academy Award for the same film. One of his most popular roles was in the X-Men films where he portrayed Senator Kelly in the first one and a shape-shifter impersonating Kelly in the second. He also known for having appeared in The Runaway Jury and Apt Pupil, and for playing the title role in the cult favorite Willard. He has guest starred in many television series including Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise. he has appeared in stage as well in works such as To Kill a Mockingbird.
Adrienne Barbeau’s Role on General Hospital
Barbeau will reportedly be playing a close friend of Brenda named Suzanne Stanwyck. She runs a children's charity in Italy. Vanessa Marcil, who plays Brenda, returns to the show on August 11 for a major storyline, and Barbeau will begin airing the next day. It is currently unknown how long Barbeau will be on the show, but it is most likely to be for a short term role.
Bruce Davison’s Role on General Hospital
Davison will be appearing on the show as Franco’s art dealer in July. Franco, played by acclaimed actor James Franco, is a serial killer with an artistic flair that has an obsession with hit-man Jason Morgan. It isn’t known how long Davison will be on the show, but it is likely just a short stint as James Franco is expected to leave in late July.
